No fixed packages. We follow a core 5-step framework to build your custom-tailored itinerary

The Initial Inquiry & Vibe Check

You share your travel dates, group size, budget, and the specific style or feeling you want from the trip (such as high-action big-cat viewing or a quiet, immersive wilderness retreat)

Step 2 of 5

Destination & Anchor Selection

We help you choose 2 or 3 core regions (anchors) and the right parks or reserves based on seasonal wildlife migrations and weather rather than trying to cram too many countries into one trip.

Step 3 of 5

Pacing & Accommodation

We map out your pacing, typically recommending at least 3 nights per camp or lodge so you do not spend every day packing and moving. We also match you with tented camps or luxury lodges that fit your comfort level.

Step 4 of 5

Crafting the Proposal & Refining Together

We build a draft itinerary featuring your custom activities (like game drives, hot air ballooning or gorilla trekking), and internal logistics (light-aircraft hops or private transfer drivers), then we loop you in for feedback to tweak details.

Step 5 of 5

Confirmation & Logistics Handoff

Once you approve the design, we lock in your fixed bookings (lodges, permits, and internal flights), handle your pre-trip documentation guidance (visas, health/vaccine requirements, and travel insurance), and hand you a complete roadmap.

Meet James Mutabazi

“Our journey began with a simple idea: that every traveler deserves a safari designed around their own interests, expectations and aspirations.”

James grew up in Rakai, in southern Uganda, and founded Bespoke Safaris in Kampala in 2023 after years in tour operations, guiding and tourism education. He holds a Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management with First Class Honours from Makerere University Business School and a Master of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Today he leads a team of travel consultants, a reservations officer and senior safari guides who plan and run every Bespoke Safaris journey.

 Verified Low cost, local tours by young Ugandans who are knowledgeable and committed.
I was visiting Acholi in March and my Ugandan colleagues recommended Bespoke Safaris and dropped me off at the park where I had booked a low cost hotel for myself and my Bespoke guide in the hotel in the park. I only had 2 days. The guide drove up from Kampala and met me that evening. He was extremely knowledgeable about he park and animals I could see, I only had one day and had to be back in Kampala that night. We set off that evening and again at 0530, I had a safari tour car to myself and he ensured I saw everything, antelope, monkeys, lions, cheetah, giraffe, hippos, elephants and more. He was extremely knowledgeable, we seemed to be first everywhere, he knew all the other guides and they supported each other in ensuring we all had the best experience. He then drove me back to Kampala. What I really liked was that this is a young Ugandan owned and managed company and I felt I was supporting young entrepeneurs as well as having a great experience. Adventuring with Bespoke Tours and Travel-SMC LTD wasn’t just a tour but also an astounding experience,Our driver James was such an amicable man and well familiar with vast options of where and when I should tour, I visited several places including Queen Elizabeth National Park, saw , Lions,,Leopards, Elephants,,etc .The Twin lakes , The hot springs , Kazinga Channel with aquatic animals like Crocodile ,etc. He chose the best hotels for us with the best Menu and our safety was always his first priority . Before You Send Your Request

What happens after I send my request?

We reply with a few questions about your interests, dates and budget, then design your first itinerary and send it with a clear, itemised quote. You can change anything before you confirm.

Do I pay for the planning?

Not if we run your safari: planning is included in the Full Bespoke Safari. The Safari Advice Call and the Custom Safari Plan are for travellers who want expert help but plan to book on their own.

Can I change one of the tours on your website?

Yes. Every tour on our website can be adjusted. Tell us which tour you like and what you would change, such as the number of days, the lodges, the activities or the pace, and we will rework it for you.

How much does a tailor-made safari cost?

It depends on the length of the trip, the season, the lodges you choose, the number of travellers and any permits. Your proposal lists every cost line by line, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Can you arrange gorilla and chimpanzee permits?

Yes. We arrange gorilla trekking, the gorilla habituation experience and chimpanzee tracking as part of your safari, together with transport, accommodation and guiding.

Can we combine Uganda with Rwanda, Kenya or Tanzania?

Yes. We design multi-country journeys, for example gorillas in Uganda or Rwanda combined with the Maasai Mara in Kenya or the Serengeti in Tanzania.

Do you plan trips for families, groups and companies?

Yes. We plan for couples, families, solo travellers, private groups, photographers and educational groups, as well as corporate retreats and incentive trips.
